Omen IV: The Awakening is at last the final installment in The Omen franchise that should have ended after the original. Even though Damien (the antichrist) was finally killed, they still kept things going for no reason whatsoever. Apparently no one had faith in the project and that’s why it released as a made-for-TV movie. Omen IV: The Awakening now follows a little girl who may be the new antichrist. She looks creepy, but her performance comes across more as a bratty child. While her acts of evil include making a boy wet himself and spitting on her nanny. Most of the acting is TV quality and occasionally over-the-top. They also injected it with new age weirdness that wasn’t present in any other film. In the end, Omen IV: The Awakening just starts the cycle all over again. Devolving into nothing more than a lousy gender reversed remake of The Omen. I’d like to say this was the end of it, but there’s still one last inevitable fate a horror movie has to face.
