Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie is the very last direct-to-video Winnie the Pooh movie from Disneytoon Studios. It serves as an immediate follow up to Pooh’s Heffalump Movie only 7 months later. Although I have nothing but love for the Disney franchise, Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie does feel unnecessary. I think it was only made because every other holiday got their own movie except Halloween. Although I wouldn’t expect much scares from the Hundred Acre Wood. We open with Christopher Robin’s bedroom and the book opening with David Ogden Stiers returning to narrate. Roo plans to celebrate Halloween with his new best friend Lumpy. Even though he’s too afraid.
Especially when Tigger spooks him with spookables like the Gobloon that turns people into “jaggedy lanterns.” Like Springtime with Roo, Rabbit organizes everyone to go trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, Pooh ruins the night by eating all the candy. Roo convinces Lumpy to take a scary trail dressed as pirates to find the Gobloon who might give them more candy. Like Seasons of Giving and A Very Merry Pooh Year, Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie reuses a New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh TV special. Boo to You Too! Winnie the Pooh centers around Piglet who feels particularly afraid on Halloween. It’s bittersweet when you know this was John Fiedler’s final performance as Piglet. Travis Oates took over from this point on. Pooh dresses like a bumblebee, Tigger dresses like a skeleton, and Eeyore dresses like a mummy.
Unfortunately, Gopher keeps popping up dressed like other characters. Rabbit is mostly concerned with his pumpkin patch. Though they vow to have a “Hallo-wasn’t” for Piglet, he finds his courage by confronting a spookable. Roo and Lumpy learn from the story to be brave together, but the latter ends up trapped in a scary tree. Meanwhile, Rabbit takes everyone trick-or-treating with vegetables. Pooh is a honey pot, Piglet is an angel, Tigger is a superhero, Rabbit is a scarecrow, Eeyore is a bandit, and Kanga is a witch. Roo and friends rescue Lumpy and they all celebrate at Kanga’s house. Songs are all Halloween themed with “Trick ‘R Treating with Our Friends,” “Brave Together,” “I Am Not Afraid,” and “I Wanna Scare Myself.” Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie scares up a few decent moments.
I forgot they made this…gonna put it on the to-watch list for Halloween. Trick-or-treating with vegetables is worthy of a look when it comes to the world of Pooh.๐

Pooh at Halloween sounds like a blast, and him in a honey pot costume is the icing on the cake. A shame it’s the last entry, but at least it finished up on a decent note. I forgot John Fielder made it to the mid 2000’s before passing on, definitely bittersweet that it’s his last hurrah as Piglet.
